World's Largest Carbon Facility
For centuries, carbon has been one of the natural gasses in abundance, constantly causing significant environmental concerns like global warming. Direct air extraction is a procedure that sucks out carbon directly with either industrial or chemical methods.
A U.S climate-tech company, in a recent interview, announced a partnership deal with a Dallas-based carbon depository developer to permanently remove five million tons of atmospheric carbon from the air annually by the year 2030.
The company plans to build the world's largest carbon removal facility by late 2023. This factory would be constructed in the large city of Wyoming in the United States. The project is called Bison.
The facility is the first factory to use Class VI wells to store carbon gas permanently. It also consists of the first direct air capture (DAC) technology.
The CEO of CarbonCapture, Adrian Corless, reiterates the advantages of removing environmental waste. “With the passage of the inflation reduction act, the proliferation of companies seeking high-quality carbon removal credits, and disruptive low-cost technology. We now have the ingredients needed to scale DAC to megaton levels by the end of this decade.”
“We plan to have our first DAC modules fielded by the end of next year and to continue installing capacity as quickly as modules come off our production line. We aim to leverage economies of scale to offer the lowest priced DAC-based carbon removal credits in the market.” He also added.
The company chose Wyoming because of the state's extensive supply of renewable and carbon-free energy. It is a fertile ground for such operations. It is also an ideal ground for carbon storage due to its regulatory conditions. The eject traps carbon in the air and permanently stores it underground. Frontier Carbon Solutions collects and injects this trapped Co2 into deep saline aquifers via VI injection wells.

Wyoming is one of the United States’ most resourceful states, with coal mines and power plant closures. During this project, Carbon Captures have reinstated that the natural resources and wildlife would be safely protected. And that the natural beauty of the state would be unchanged.
Feasibility
Many scientists fear the usefulness of project Bison. The drafts and cause are well understood, but another factor is the expense. There is currently no proposed budget for the project. The technology may not be under use till the next ten years.
